The Department of Ethnic Studies at California State University, Sacramento is pleased to announce its Second International Conference on Genocide. The first International Conference on Genocide which was organized by California State University at Sacramento took place in October 1998. The Proceedings of the Conference were published by the Edwin Mellen Press in a volume entitled Anatomy of Genocide: State-Sponsored Mass-Killings in the 20th Century.

The organizers of the conference will accept all abstracts which deal with any aspect of genocide such as case studies, theories, eyewitness accounts, prevention of genocide, early warning signs of genocide, planning of genocide, propaganda machines, world and international organizations’ reaction, media coverage of genocide, genocide and justice, the treatment of indigenous people, etc. Papers which deal with genocide denial, justification, trivialization and revisionism in scholarship literature are especially welcome.

Please send one-page abstract with the title of the topic, your institutional affiliation and e-mail address to the Genocide Organizing Committee at the Ethnic Studies Department, California State University at Sacramento, Sacramento, CA 95819-6013. The abstract can be sent via fax at (916-278-5156), or by e-mail, at either kimenyi@saclink.csus.edu or thomasaf@csus.edu. Selected papers from the conference will be published in a book. The deadline for abstract submission is April 25, 2004.
